In 1987, my older sister went to college. A few months later, she came to visit with her new boyfriend, Tom. He was a graphics art major and interested in computer programming. Tom had coded the beginnings of a text based computer game titled “Thaze Maze”. While it was little more than a series of IF statements, that game changed my life. My mind was opened to a world of possibilities. I began designing games on paper.
That seeming minor event changed the course of my life. Because of Thaze Maze, I pursued a career in computers, which lead me to become a programmer.
